Founder 15 Days in Clay

Lighthouse has been central to the development and evolution of 15 Days In Clay. Giving us the opportunity to showcase our work at such a respected and highly-acclaimed venue, has enabled us to be seen in a much more professional light and catapulted us to a wider audience.

There was only ever one venue in Dorset that we felt could platform our work in such a professional way and that would be able to show the talents of the artists. That venue was always Lighthouse.

Having us back for our 15-year anniversary has been an honour and we are enormously grateful to everyone at Lighthouse for being so professional in their support and for helping us fulfill our vision.

15 Days in Clay presented, ‘The ‘Gethering’  it was dispalyed Saturday 23rd February to Saturday 20th April 2019 at the Lighthouse Poole

This exhibition showcased, the artists latest ceramic installation; fifteen fantastic ceramic figures celebrating the culmination of an amazing 15 years. These collaborative and challenging pieces, demonstrate individuality and outstanding creativity.

The ‘The Gathering’ represents some 40 adults with additional needs working and exploring their creativity alongside professional artists on their journey to become artists in their own right.

Background:

Started in 2003 by Janna Edwards with a grant from ‘Awards For All’ 15 Days in Clay is a remarkable project based at Holton Lee near Poole. The initial group met for 15 days over 15 weeks, hence the name. The project has grown over the years to four days a week, with over 40 adults enjoying the creative processes of hand building clay techniques. Supporting the project is a current team of eleven dedicated volunteers who make the project possible.
